Yeah almost felt bad for Darien in this panel. Even with all the theories I think it’s Occam’s razor taht states the simplest answer is often the correct one, Darien is still likely just a normal college student who’s interested in Darien.
I don’t think MM will be dead when she gets there…will she die at some point soon? it’s very possible.
Occam’s razor rarely applies to comic books. How many comic book characters can you name that are “just a normal guy/girl”? (And I mean ‘name’. Nameless background characters don’t count.)
Still, from what we’ve actually seen of Darien so far I wouldn’t be surprised if he did turn out to be just some guy that was created to introduce a little romantic conflict for Heather. Time will tell.

This is a comic book, but were this real I would tell her stick with Damien. Sacrificing yourself to such a degree for someone else’s happiness hardly ever ends well.
Gotta agree with the panda. Spinny’s done some clueless things, but she’s never been an outright jerk before. Now she has, and she loses a ton of respect for that.

In an attempt to not be a complete instigator, I’ll say that my ‘crammed down the throat’ comment wasn’t a result of me disliking the pairing (I don’t really prefer MM or Damien tbh, either is fine with me), but the pacing. That was my issue, that it feels rushed. If you still think my reasoning is due to it being same sex, then I don’t believe i can persuade you to believe otherwise.
I’m fine with how she came to her decision in this chapter. Was it perfectly done? maybe maybe not but I’d rather have it done fairly quickly than dragged out for 3 issues. Too many mangas/animes have done that and because of it, I lost interest. I understand why you think it was a bit fast paced but it’s just a difference of opinion.

Actually, she didn’t say she was rejecting him. She said that she something to do and methinks that’s confronting MM once and for all. So there’s still a chance she might end up with Darien.

So Tiger sees MM and Spinny as his daughters kinda, so what’s his response gonna be when he inevitablely returns right as Spinny frustraitedly yells her love at MM? Anyway, How I figure the rest of the chapter will play out: (after Spinny saves MM from Pharoh, who she ran off to fight on her own.) Heather yells “What were you thinking! You could have gotten hurt!” MM replies something along the lines of it turned out okay / she ended up okay. Spinny yells “It’s not okay! I– I love you!” Next pannel shows tiger had just entered the doorframe. he yells Whhhaaaat?! End of chapter.
Next Chapter begins after everyone had alot of talking. Tiger is not nessisarily okay with the situation, but cool with it. MM and Spinny are trying tenitively to be a couple, but both are really anxious and don’t know exactly what they should do. Enter possiblility of 1 or 2 chapters down the line, they have to choose save MM’s life and cut all attachment to her, or keep her in the team and with Spinny, but knowing she will die quickly.
Nah, kidding. But I’m so glad this gets resolved now, instead of this focusing on Dr. U for an eternity now. Also, seeing how Heather left Marilyn there makes me sad. I’m actually glad now we didn’t get to see the whole ending of that scene because one panel alone is enough to break my heart.

Maybe I’m a bigger digital pervert then I thought but, I kind of miss gigantically breasted Greta Gravity. In an odd kind of way, she’s kind of cute for a ‘full figured’ cartoon girl.
