on April 30, 2012Hey guys, Acen was a blast. I’d like to thank everyone who dropped by the booth, even if you were too broke on Sunday to buy anything 
I did a few panels with Alan of Rival Angels, czech it out. I also got a commission by Comfort and Adam of The Uniques, which is a favourite comic of mine. I’ll be posting it at the end of this chapter.
Never heard of Maus the comic. I’m pretty sure he named the guy after the Super Heavy Tank Germany planned in WWII

Maus is one of the “Big Three” book-form comics (along with Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns), that are said to have brought the term “graphic novel” and the idea of comics for adults into mainstream consciousness in the English-speaking world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maus
It won the Pulitzer Prize, the Eisner Award, the Urhunden Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award, the LA Times Book Prize for Fiction and the Harvey Award.
Any artist unaware of it is in serious need of some background research on their own field.
I suspect the writer thought the size vs name disparity would be amusing, and perhaps didn’t consider how some might see it.

For the record, I picked the name from the giant tank.
And yes, I’m aware of Maus. I read it and loved it.
I really like how this artist draws Greta.
The scenes flow nicely, and it feels like they are moving through a real environment.
The transitions from realistic to ‘deformed’ are very good & amusing.

On other things, is Greta maybe Jewish? She seems apprehensive about the Nazis.
Ze customer is alway right, and the way she’s looking at the young officer, she looks kind of scared.

Maus = mouse; presumably an ironic nickname for what apprears to be a genetically engineered supersoldier. Sort of the Nazi answer to Captain America … maybe we can call him Hauptman Deutschland?
Also Maus was the name of a german supertank that never got past prototype /wooden mock up stage

I personaly prefer Greta that way.Her massive breast in her first apparance was just out of place.Gravity power or not, she would suffer from massive back pain.

I’m fairly sure Ms Greta would have little pain in zero G, so I’m confident ‘gravity control’ means ‘no pain, all gain’.
Actually if she goes flying around or hopping around in a zero G bubble they would actually tend to get bigger, as more blood would pool in her chest in zero G. It’s a temporary condition in space travelers, their bodies quickly adjust.
GAAAH! FINALLY! Krakowstudios website was DENIED me until just now! (9:39 am, pst.) That’s over a whole DAY sans Spinnerette people! …withdrawal… withdrawal.

I mourned the loss of Spinny & Katt & Greta. I feared mouthbreathing knuckledragging Hackavistas had nuked Krakowstudios and one of the bright points in my week was gone forever. Then I remembered that my glass is always half full and I kicked back and waited for normal service to resume.

I tried installing Cloudflare, it didn’t get along with WordPress.
Why are Nazi’s always the bad guys?…I kid. But really, why do they need Hitler to lead them? Can’t they do it themselves? Or just get a body double, hire an out of work actor and make him think the camera’s are rolling. What if the clone grows up and disappoints them in his teen years; always on his iPhone, listening to The Cure? “You must lead ze Aryans!” “Lay off, old man. Jersey Shore is on.”…I think I’d watch that show. “That’s Our Furher”. Personally, I never felt that the biggest monster of our history could be a vegetarian. I;m more of a ruling over humanity from a throne of bones and drinking blood from a skull kind of monster. I’m a simple man…
Juuuuust in case you have any readers who were offended by this comic…I’m Jewish (Orthodox) and I found this HILARIOUS.

I do believe a quote from Sting’s song Russians is appropriate to what you’re trying to say “there’s no such thing as a winnable war, it’s a lie we don’t believe any more’…. I think mr. Maus would need to do a bit more than just talk about hating Jews to justify killing him.
For all we know Maus might have grown up completely separated from the rest of the world and been feed the nazi doctrine since he could walk.
He might not have done anything, and he could be redeemable.

What’s the point of bringing back Hitler in this day and age? There’s no way he could get back to power now that everyone knows who he is and what he’s done. Plus, with technology where it is nowadays, it’d be difficult to even motivate anyone to follow him.

Take a look at “Syncline”s post on the previous page. A Hitler-like person could probably pull of another holocaust, just not in Germany.
Less likely if he says he is Hitler reborn though.
Wow… I just recently started reading this comic and I have to say this is one of the best things ever made. I wish I’d seen it earlier. The satire is brilliant, but the characters are even better. Dr. Universe is now my new role model.

What kind of massive screw up would it take for what we see in the donation panel be the hitler MKII?
As for nasty world dictators, looks up the name Kallor, fictional yes, but Steven Erikson did a Hell of a job getting that immortal evil vibe right.
