I’m worried about Patti. Not only are their massive chunks of concrete debris and broken glass falling from the devastated roof, now there’s a massive genetic infusion ray aimed with all the precision of a Saturday Night Special.

Spins and Sahira will be OK, secondary characters like Patti and the security guards are collateral damage :(

This could be Patti’s chance to shine!

Particularly when that ray hits her.

      Wonder what kind of hero/villain she’ll be…

      Armeisce said:

Of course she’ll be a hero :) Whenever there’s trouble, strife or conflict, whenever there’s injustice, malfeasance or a kitten stuck in a tree, there you’ll find The Reporter and her Lens. Through the power of the Lens, truth is revealed, evil is brought low and politicians are believed.

I live in Northern Ireland. We don’t do impartial over here. Especially at this time of year, July/August. Sectarian tensions are high :(

The media are lawfully bound to be impartial but.. :(

I tried to compose a post that would illustrate “good” reporting but I’m afraid it reflected my own impartiality :( We are, each of us, a product of our own history.

She’ll be OK – the non-speaking characters are usually spared so they can be used again in different crowd scenes. Put a word in with the editor, get her noticed. Perhaps we’ll see her again, this time with a speaking role :)

Hmm let’s see we currently have: Spinnerette, Sahira, a Lot of webbing and a metal plate touching the web that the beam hit.

And Lo Mecha Spinnerette was born that day.
Potential Powers: sentient armour, organic webbing, Sahira’s powers and Spinnerette’s current abilities (not listing all of them as there could still be some unknowns in either category like Spinerette being poisonous)

I’m pretty sure any military veteran would cite this page as an example of why inexperienced soldiers handling heavy weapons are better under the supervision of an officer or a senior noncom than not. Seriously, remember that Spinny’s the team rookie and tell me that Tiger or MM would *not* have had a better idea that was at least as effective and involved less potential (or inevitable) collateral damage.

Then again, Spinny got there first, so hijinks ensue. And mutational energy blasts. I’m also expecting explosions, if only from MM’s missiles when she eventually shows up.

wolf.spider you need to have your wits about you.

Her hand may seek out yours under the canteen table for a furtive clasp before her co-workers join you but it’s a lie.

You may share knowing looks and secret smiles, but it’s a lie.

She may find excuses to touch you, fixing your tie or your collar, (slowly) licking her thumb before rubbing an imaginary speck of dirt from your cheek while her fingers trace your jawline, her hot breath caressing your mouth, the smell of her hot body filling your lungs but it’s a lie.

You both may slow down as you pass each other in the corridor so your fingers can linger as they pass across her thigh and her fingers across yours but it’s a lie.

Look into her eyes. Those cold dead shark eyes. Do you see love, empathy, life?

For her, you are a cost effective life support system for you brain. Which she slice, colour and examine under a scanning electron microscope.

You would sacrifice Patti Winters for all of that?

y’know was thinking about stuff earlier today. Mecha Maid could survive if she just pretty much creates an internal power suit. Easy way to explain it is the nervous system is like the body’s electric system, and MM’s wires are shorted out, so replacing them would fix that.

well that is trying to explain it in an easy to understand way. course not trying to give ideas, was just something i thought of today.

    • avatar
      wolf.spider said:

It could work if she found a safe way to surgically install the wiring. brain and spine surgery is neither simple nor easy.

    • avatar
      Mongoose Van Dunkelschreiber said:

how are the going to convert the energy it works for the nervous system because it electrochemical, but wires run strictly as electrical energy

      An electrochemical battery.

      Mongoose Van Dunkelschreiber said:

let see the fact the body takes food, breaks it down into monomers, absorbs it into the blood, than difused into the cells, where it breaken down futher thre a serie of reaction to make pyruvate which the gouse through a cycle of reactions that enrgized electro cariiors which then transport said elctrons to a electron chain, which pum[s hydrogen and creats ATP, ATP then basiclay run the show from there so you planning to simulate all those functions with machines.

Is it just me, or is MM taking a reallllllly long time to turn up? It’s almost as if she’s going to turn up at any moment…just in time to push Spins out of the way and get hit full-force with that ray…
If that happens, I see many scenarios:
    1) Bad: it wrecks her suit, and she can’t breathe (although this is very close to the storyline of the last main stroy arc)
    2) Interesting: she and Spins switch bodies/powers, which could lead to them understanding each other properly/a tragic ending where Spins is dying in MM’s body and MM agrees to switch back to save her and dies (I don’t want that to happen :’( )
    3) Good but boring: She turns up in time to push Spins out of the way, and they continue fighting

But there are too many ways for this to go to know for sure
Ahhhhh this cliffhanger thing is beginning to take its toll *shakes fist* KROOOOOOOWWW! XP
